Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the web has completely re-invented the web with privacy, security, and decentralization first. It appears that apps running on the SOLID network can work in a standard browser. If so, this is a change from prior beta versions of SOLID. One MAJOR flaw is that it relies on the centrally controlled DNS system. For now, this early release recommends you use a Chromium based browser as FireFox is not fully supported.
Decentralization
Solid will not work without centralized DNS.
It will work without central servers.
User accounts are self-hosted, meaning the user is in full control. It's unknown or is not applicable if Solid supports cryptocurrency monetization.
